rayelorenLoren Raye Named AMP 103.3 Boston AM Drive Co-Host.  CBS Radio Boston announces Loren Raye joins the “The TJ Show” with TJ Taormina on WODS, Boston “AMP 103.3.”  Program director Dan Mason says the move reunites Raye with Taormina since the two worked together on the Elvis Duran show.  Over the course of her five years with the Elvis Duran show, Raye has done post-show production, been program producer and been segment host of “Badass Chick of the Day,” as well as fill-in show co-host.  In addition, she’s a voiceover artist with an impressive client list including narrator for MTV’s “Totally Clueless,” voice of Club Kane, and voiceover work for clients like CHASE, NBC Universal, and Wal-Mart.  She says, “I am beyond thrilled to be able to work alongside TJ as his co-host.  For the last five years, he has continuously fueled my passion for radio and has also become one of my very closest friends, which I couldn’t be more grateful for.  I look forward to working with TJ, Dan Mason, and the incredible ‘AMP’ team to make ‘AMP Radio’ Boston’s top hit music station.”

masterssteveSteve Masters Takes AM Drive Shift at ‘Live 105’ in San Francisco.  Multi-talented music media personality Steve Masters will begin hosting the morning drive show at CBS Radio’s KITS, San Francisco “Live 105” beginning Monday, April 1.  CBS SF vice president of programming Michael Martin says, “’Live 105’ has a rich history in the Bay Area and Steve was a big part of making us who we are.  To say I’m excited to hear him back on our air is an understatement.”  Masters worked at KITS from 1985, through its flip to modern rock in 1986 to his departure in 1995.  He returned to the station for a period in 2002.  He has also worked as an MTV VJ and started his own record label, Tripindicular Records, and worked for MCA Records.

lesourdmaureenMaureen Lesourd to Head Up Lincoln Financial Media Miami.  From her most recent post as chief revenue officer at LDR Interactive, Maureen Lesourd moves to Miami to take on the SVP and general manager position at Lincoln Financial Media’s cluster that includes AC WLYF, classic hits WMXJ and sports talk WAXY.  She takes over for Jeff Dinetz who left the company this month and she’ll begin her duties in April.  LFM president and CEO Don Benson says, “I am very excited – both for our Miami staff and for our company overall – to have Maureen on board.  She has led many big, successful radio stations during her multi-media career and will bring spirit and vision to our operations in Miami.”  Lesourd says of her new position, “The chance to join Don and the team at Lincoln Financial is a real honor.  My career has afforded me the opportunity to work in all aspects of the broadcasting industry, from radio, syndication, and network TV to new technology.  I hope to apply this experience with the Miami crew to help the cluster grow in a positive and productive way for the staff, the listeners, and our advertisers.”

dougbanks media logoNationally Syndicated Doug Banks Debuts New Media Company.  Urban radio personality Doug Banks – who hosts a nationally syndicated PM drive show with co-host DeDe Maguire based out of Clear Channel’s WVAZ, Chicago – announces the creation of his own media company that banksdougfeatures Ed Pearson as president.  Pearson is the former vice president of urban radio at ABC Radio Networks currently operating his own talent and management group, Esome Media Group.  Banks and Maguire first worked together hosting a morning radio show based in Chicago and in 2008, Banks re-launched his show in afternoon drive under the new name “The Ride with Doug and DeDe.”  In 2010, American Urban Radio Networks began syndicating “The Doug Banks Radio pearsonedShow” in afternoons that is currently heard in more than 25 markets.  Banks’ new Dallas-based company “will build on the well-established brand of the radio show as it develops new talent and content for radio, satellite, digital, television and live events.”  Banks says of the partnership, “It has been a vision of mine for the last three years to launch this company.  Having someone of such high caliber as Ed at my side, it’s now a reality and we’re ready to make some noise!”  Pearson notes, “I’ve been fortunate to have worked with some of the best in radio and Doug is certainly at the top of that list.  I’m looking forward to growing this business and enhancing the Doug Banks brand like never before.”

journalbroadcastgroupJournal Broadcast Group Names Alvin Pritchard VP of Finance.  In his new role, Alvin Pritchard will join Journal Broadcast Group as its new vice president of finance overseeing the company’s owned-and-operated television and radio stations in 14 markets, in addition to serving as a key strategic partner to the broadcast leadership team.  He will be responsible for financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis, and will play a key role in setting and achieving Journal Broadcast Group’s strategic and operational direction.  Prior to joining Journal, Pritchard served with NBC Universal as vice president of finance for the Chicago TV duopoly of WMAQ-TV (NBC) and WSNS-TV (Telemundo Chicago), for the past nine years.

jelli logoJelli Acquires Patent for ‘Social Broadcasting User Experience.’  Jelli announces it has received a patent for its “Social Broadcasting User Experience.”  The company says, “This patent, which describes a broad range of methods related to audience participation with a broadcast was received on March 5, 2013.”   CEO Mike Dougherty states, “Jelli has made a significant R&D investment in both the technology, platform and underlying intellectual property around user-controlled broadcasting.  This technology combines the reach of broadcast with the social engagement of the web, to unlock value for users, broadcasters and advertisers alike.  We are pleased to receive a fundamental patent in this area to protect the innovations of our team, for our company and partners.”

bigdbubbaplaneTeam Big D & Bubba Raise Cash for Charity.  Pictured here you see Premiere Networks syndicated country radio team Big D & Bubba and their Hearts Take Flight Pull-a-Plane Challenge team.  The goal was to pull an 18,000-pound Jetstream 41 plane faster than the other 10 teams in the competition.  Team Big D & Bubba came in second place earning $1,000 for Sports 4 All and The Arc Tennessee, two non-profit organizations that support people with disabilities.  On Team Big D & Bubba were: former NFL player and singer Kyle Turley; former “Biggest Loser” contestant and country music singer Big Vinny; local police officer Brian; Nine North Records owner Larry Pareigis; Vegas the bodybuilder; “After MidNite” producer Andrew Pittsenbarger, EJ Bernas of Bigger Picture Group; Big D and Bubba, and their producer Patrick Thomas.
